ND House Reverses Itself, Votes to End “Blue Laws”

Today's vote

A bill to let retailers open on Sundays passed in the House today in a 48-46 vote.

Yesterday the House voted on the same bill, killing it 44-50.

Tomorrow, who knows what will happen?

  1. This is the only day that retail managers have a couple of hours to relax and reflect. The shoppers and businesses will survive. Also, with the staffing issues, it’s tough to staff enough people to run the business on a Sunday with being open 8 hours. If open 12 or more, this means additional staffing issues and longer wait times in lines, etc. Which will leave the shoppers still frustrated. Most of the retailers are corporations, so it’s good to know that the state is considerate of the hard working peoples “off time”.
