U.S. Rep. Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.) doubled down on his criticism of his female colleagues and their fashion choices on Wednesday, calling the women “silly” and “rude” in an interview with CNN.
“The point of my statement was, these women who put on these white pantsuits to celebrate suffrage were really there to be rude to Donald Trump,” Cramer said. “They looked silly; they were being rude.”
Cramer was referring to a group of female Democratic representatives who all wore white, to symbolize their commitment to defending women’s rights, during Trump’s address to Congress on Tuesday. According to Cramer, the women should have consulted him before deciding what to wear.
Instead, they were super rude! “That was obvious, not just, not by their clothes, but in addition to their clothing, their gestures, their hand gestures, their thumbs down, their quick exit from the gallery ahead of the President,” Cramer said.
On the rude scale, that’s about a two. Compare that to Rep. Joe Wilson screaming “You lie!” at Barack Obama during the former president’s address to Congress in 2009.
And how can Cramer seriously complain about Democratic women being “rude” when his own idol, Trump, is the rudest motherfucker in politics?
Earlier Tuesday, Cramer described the Congresswomen’s attire as the product of a “disease.” “It is a syndrome,” he said during an interview on a North Dakota station. “There is no question, there is a disease associated with the notion that a bunch of women would wear bad-looking white pantsuits in solidarity with Hillary Clinton to celebrate her loss. You cannot get that weird.”
